The vision for Llandow Newydd is to transform the former Second World War airfield at Llandow into a vibrant, mixed-use community of homes, businesses and schools which will contribute to meeting the needs of the Vale of Glamorgan.

Proposals to redevelop the former airfield were submitted by two of the UK's leading housebuilders, Persimmon Homes and Barratt Homes, to the Vale of Glamorgan Council as part of the authority's Local Development Plan process. Following publication of the Draft Preferred Strategy by the Council, the developers have been granted permission to challenge the LDP process through Judicial Review, to take place during March 2010.
