It is anticipated that a 'sustainable drainage system' would be implemented for the settlement. A key element
of such a system could be a wet pond, located on the western edge of Llandow Trading Estate, in the lower lying
part of the site, draining to the existing watercourse that flows under the railway line to join Sutton Brook.
Reeds and other marginal aquatics would be established on the pond margins, for their ecological interest and their contribution to the treatment of the surface water collected from the development areas. Where feasible, road and roof drainage will be directed to swales, grassed depressions running alongside some roads. These are seen as complimenting the existing wetland areas of grassland and streams.
